AS I WAS STATING, STAFF HAS CONDUCTED A REVIEW OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND WE'VE DETERMINED THAT THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENT IS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES OF THE DECATUR 2050 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
THE ZONING ORDINANCE ALLOWS FOR VETERINARIAN CLINICS OR KENNELS, INDOOR PENS ONLY IN SEVERAL DISTRICTS WITH A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT. THOSE DISTRICTS INCLUDE C-1, C-2, AND C-2, AND THEN IN LI, HI AND PLANNED DEVELOPMENTS THOSE USES ARE THAT USE IS ALLOWED BY RIGHT.
IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THE RESTRICTED OFFICE, WHICH IS C-O, DOES NOT PERMIT THIS USE AT ALL. AND WE THINK THAT IT MAKES SENSE THAT THE VETERINARIAN CLINIC OR KENNELS WITH THE INDOOR PENS ONLY SHOULD BE ALLOWED ALSO IN THE C-O ZONING DISTRICT WITH THE SPECIFIC USE PERMIT.

AS OF THIS AGENDA POSTING THE JULY 2ND MEETING CURRENTLY HAS THREE PLANNING APPLICATIONS, AND WE'VE GOT A REPLAT, A FINAL PLAT, AND A ZONING CHANGE, AND WE'VE IDENTIFIED THE DIFFERENT ADDRESSES.THE MIDDLE CREEK PHASE ONE THEY MAY BE AGAIN LOOKING AT ANOTHER EXTENSION.
