AS YOU KNOW, WE WENT THROUGH THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE.

YOU AGREED ON THE AMENDMENTS THAT WE HAD BROUGHT FORWARD ON THAT.

SO THAT IS PENDING FINAL APPROVAL TO TAKE BEFORE COUNCIL.

2021 IPC, INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, WAS REVIEWED PENDING SOME AMENDMENTS PROPOSED BY COMMISSIONER GILLESPIE AND OUR INSPECTOR, CHUCK SELLERS.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS WILL GO OVER THOSE INDIVIDUALLY HERE IN JUST A MINUTE.

THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE AND THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE ARE GOING TO BE DISCUSSED TODAY.

ON THE AT THE APRIL 15TH BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION WILL BE INCLUDING THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE AND THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL EXISTING BUILDING CODE AMENDMENTS.

BOTH OF THOSE SETS OF AMENDMENTS ARE IN YOUR PACKET.

THOSE ARE THE COG AMENDMENTS AS THEY EXIST TODAY.

THERE ARE SOME CHANGES THAT WE'RE GOING TO PROPOSE FOR THE RESIDENTIAL CODE.

YOU'LL BE SEEING THOSE AT THE NEXT MEETING.

WE ARE STILL PENDING THE REVIEW OF THE BUILDING CODE.

THE INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE, THE INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING POOL AND SPA CODE, AND THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE.

SO, SEEING WHAT WE'VE DONE, WHERE WE'RE AT, WE'RE STILL EXPECTING SOMEWHERE IN AROUND JULY TO BE THROUGH ALL THIS AND HAVE THESE THINGS MOVING FORWARD.

NOT ANY ACTION ON THAT ONE.

I JUST WANTED TO KIND OF GIVE YOU AN UPDATE OF WHERE WE'RE AT, AND I'LL KIND OF GIVE YOU AN UPDATE EVERY TIME WE DO ONE OF THESE MEETINGS TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEEN APPROVED SO FAR, WHERE WE'RE AT ON THE OTHER AMENDMENTS, AND SO IF YOU LOOK.

THE DETACHED STRUCTURES IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT ON THAT RIGHT NOW.

THE CODE EXEMPTS ANYTHING.

WE'VE MADE A DECISION THAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE THAT STRICKEN JUST BECAUSE WE'RE GETTING A LOT OF DETACHED ACCESSORY BUILDINGS, THE SMALL ONES THAT ARE PLACED IN SETBACKS, AND RIGHT NOW FOR THE SMALLER ACCESSORY STRUCTURES WE ARE R EQUESTING AN APPLICATION FOR REVIEW ONLY, AND SO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE WANTING TO SEE A SITE PLAN AND THEN ATTACHMENT OF THOSE STRUCTURES TO THE GROUND. SO WE DON'T HAVE THEM BLOWING AROUND WHENEVER THERE'S PROBLEMS. SO THAT IS ONE OF THE AMENDMENTS THAT WE'RE WORKING ON RIGHT NOW.

I DON'T SEE A LOT OF CHANGES THAT WE WILL BE BRINGING FORWARD IN THE EXISTING BUILDING CODE.

THAT'S A VERY USEFUL CODE WHENEVER PEOPLE ARE CHANGING UP OLD BUILDINGS.

OUR ARCHITECTS ARE REALLY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT AND TO BE ABLE TO USE THAT, AND SO WE ADOPTED THAT AT THE LAST CODE CHANGE CYCLE, AND HOPING TO BRING THAT FORWARD AGAIN SO THAT'S AN OPTION AND IT GIVES PEOPLE OTHER PATHWAYS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH WITH EXISTING BUILDINGS BUT I DON'T SEE A LOT OF CHANGES THAT WERE EXPECTING OUT OF THAT.

DISCUSS THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE LOCAL AMENDMENTS.

ADOPTION REVIEW AND MAKE A RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING ADOPTION, AND SO I'VE ATTACHED.

THE AMENDMENTS AS YOU'VE SEEN THEM.

WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF OTHER AMENDMENTS THAT HAVE BROUGHT FORWARD, AND WE'VE GOT WORDING ON THOSE TODAY THAT I WANTED EVERYBODY TO TAKE A LOOK AT.

SO WITH THAT [INAUDIBLE] THERE IT IS.

OKAY. WE HAD A PROPOSAL FROM COMMISSIONER GILLESPIE REGARDING LAWN IRRIGATION SYSTEMS, AND I'VE GOT PROPOSED LANGUAGE UP THERE, AND I'M NOT SURE IF THAT MEETS THE INTENT OF WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR IN THERE.

IT DOES BRING FORWARD ATMOSPHERIC TYPE VACUUM BREAKERS, PRESSURE TYPE VACUUM BREAKERS AND REDUCED PRESSURE PRINCIPLE BACK BACKFLOW PREVENTERS. YOU'D SPECIFICALLY CALLED OUT OUR PIECE FOR DISCUSSION, BUT THIS IS THE CODE LANGUAGE AS IT EXISTS IN THE PLUMBING CODE RIGHT NOW.

THE LOCAL THE COG AMENDMENT REMOVES.

OR ADDS THE DOUBLE CHECK INTO THAT LANGUAGE.

OKAY, SO PRETTY MUCH WHAT WE WOULD HAVE TO DO IS JUST REMOVE THAT BACK OUT, BASICALLY STRIKE THAT AMENDMENT FROM OUR STRIKE OUT THE DOUBLE CHECK ASSEMBLY AND [INAUDIBLE] OKAY, SO WHAT I'D LIKE AGAIN GOING BACK TO NEW SYSTEMS. SURE. YEAH.

I'D LIKE TO SIT DOWN WITH YOU, LIKE WE TALKED ABOUT, AND BE ABLE TO TALK ABOUT ALL THE IMPLICATIONS OF THIS.

IF WE CAN SIT DOWN AND TALK ABOUT THAT, I THINK WE CAN COME TO A GOOD IDEA ON HOW TO MAKE THAT WORK.

I THINK THE LANGUAGE THAT'S THERE SERVES THE PURPOSE THAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IN THE AMENDMENT, BUT DEFINITELY HOW WE IMPLEMENT THAT.

STILL MORE DISCUSSION BETWEEN YOU AND I THAT WE NEED TO FIGURE OUT ON THIS DEAL, AND WE PROBABLY DON'T NEED TO GO RIGHT THERE RIGHT NOW, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, ABOUT THE REPLACEMENT VERSUS AND ALL THAT AND EVERYTHING, AND THEN WE CAN COME UP WITH SOME WORDING TO SAY, THIS IS WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IN THIS CASE.

OKAY, AND SO SOLVENCY MEANING JOINT SURFACES SHALL BE CLEANED FREE FROM MOISTURE.

A PURPLE PRIMER THAT CONFORMS WITH ASTM, F656 SHALL BE APPLIED SOLVENT CEMENT, NOT PURPLE IN COLOR AND CONFORMING TO ASTM AND CSA STANDARDS MAY BE APPLIED TO ALL JOINT SURFACES WHEN APPROVED BY THE AHJ.

SO BASICALLY, WE'RE WANTING TO KNOW WHEN YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE USING PRIMER.

THAT'S PURPLE OKAY.

ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS GET IN TOUCH WITH OUR OFFICE AND SAY, HEY, WE'RE NOT GOING TO BE USING PRIMER ON THIS FOR WHATEVER THE REASON IS BUT THERE'S A LOT OF TIMES THAT WE SHOW UP AND THERE'S NO INDICATION OF PRIMER ON THAT PIPE, AND THEY SAY, WELL, WE USED A CLEAR PRIMER AND THERE'S NO WAY THAT WE KNOW THAT.

THERE'S AN EXCEPTION TO THIS.

A PRIMER IS NOT REQUIRED WHEN BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS APPLY AND THE APPLICATION IS APPROVED BY THE AHJ.

WE ADDED THAT LAST PORTION OF THAT ALSO SO THAT WE'RE KNOWING WE KNOW WHEN YOU'RE NOT USING PRIMER IN THESE LOCATIONS BECAUSE WE'LL BE LOOKING FOR THAT SPECIFIC ASTM NUMBER, AND THAT IT'S USED FOR DRAIN WASTE AND VENT PIPING. ON FITTINGS AND NON-PRESSURE APPLICATIONS.

SO THE EXCEPTION WILL STILL APPLY.

WE JUST WANT TO KNOW WHEN YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE USING THAT PRIMER.

IT'S BEEN SUCH A STAPLE FOR SO LONG, BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN WE DO GET SOME, AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE ARE THINGS THAT WE'RE COVERED.

DISCUSSION IN THE CODE CONCERNING NON-PORTABLE PRIMER.

THAT PRODUCT WAS OUT THERE, BUT THAT WAS NOT ADDRESSED BY THE CODE.

THIS IS NEW LANGUAGE THAT CAME IN IN 2015.

IT'S MAKE IT EASIER ON THEM TO KNOW WHAT'S BEING USED.

WELL LABOR, TURNKEY, IT COULD RANGE I MEAN YOU KNOW IT COULD BE AN ADDITIONAL.

ONCE YOU GET INTO LARGER APPARATUSES, THEY'RE VERY EXPENSIVE.
